These round, fluffy-looking birds are found in Canada and throughout the United States. They are relatively common in forested areas as well as at backyard feeders. Juncos are often seen hopping along the ground alone or in small groups. They eat seeds, berries, insects and some fruit. Their nests are constructed from grasses and built in the trees or on the ground in sheltered areas.
