Description
Attract beneficial insects to your garden landscape!
Naturally maintain and improve the health of the plants in your yard, landscape, or garden by attracting beneficial insects!
This insect house's multi-chamber design attracts the largest variety of beneficial insects (4 Chambers).
Soon you will have no vacancies in this hotel! Invite your buzzing guests to stay a while with the Wide Insect Hotel. This insect hotel welcomes many different species of critters with multiple types of habitats, including bamboo tubes, wood cylinders with pre-drilled holes, pine cones, and cut wood chunks. With this assortment of habitats, the insects in your area are sure to nest, and your garden will thank you for it!
The pine cones at the bottom section of this house will attract beetles, centipedes, spiders, wood lice (also known as roly-poly or pill bugs), and ladybugs. These insects help compost the soil in your area, while some, like ladybugs, will eat pest insects in your area while pollinating flowers in your garden. Meanwhile, the bamboo tubes and drilled wood cylinders on the sides and upper area of this house accommodate solitary bees such as mason and leaf-cutter bees. These native North American bees are non-aggressive super pollinators, meaning they are 30-60 times more effective at pollinating than honey bees. The vertical slat in the middle of this house accommodates lacewings and possibly also butterflies, which also are helpful pollinators for your garden. Lacewing larvae are predators to pest insects and pest larvae, which will also help your garden and surrounding area flourish. Lacewings can also tolerate a wide range of temperatures, so you will enjoy their benefits for many seasons. The cut wood pieces in the top section of these insect hotels also attract ladybugs and beetles, which will also encourage pollination and eat your plant-eating pests.
This wooden insect hotel is constructed with insects in mind, with a metal roof that will keep your insects safe from the elements and a cedar wood body that will look attractive and functional in your garden. The Extra Wide Insect Hotel comes with one mounting screw, which will securely and easily mount the house. This insect hotel also comes pre-assembled with detailed instructions showing how to attract the solitary bees, butterflies, and other insects to your house. After installation, this insect hotel should not need any regular maintenance following installation. One will only need to make sure that the house stays securely mounted and stationary.
We recommend mounting this house in early spring on a tree or flat surface 3-5' from the ground. This Insect Hotel should not be placed near an area where pesticides or herbicides are used.
